The application window is July 18 – August 12 and we have scheduled a perspective candidate information meeting for Thursday, August 4th at 6pm in the District Office Board Room, 350 East K Street.
Two seats represent four year terms and one is for two years and completes the term for Trustee Switzer who sadly passed away in November of 2015. Application information can be found at https://www.solanocounty.com/depts/rov/
The School Board Governance Team plays a key role in the overall operation of a school district, fulfilling this role by performing five major responsibilities:
Establishing an effective and efficient structure
Providing community leadership as advocates for children and the school district
The School Board successfully accomplishes these responsibilities by working together as a high functioning governance team, with the Superintendent, to make decisions that will best serve all students in the community.
The Board of Trustees and I share the following desired characteristics of an effective Board member for your consideration.
Strongly committed to public education and to the mission and goals of the District
Knowledgeable about current educational issues in our District
High ethical standards
We are proud of this fine school district and are making great strides and moving forward in exciting ways. If you would like to be part of our outstanding governance team, believe you embody the characteristics listed above and would like to join us in our effort to make BUSD one of the premier school districts in California, please consider running for one of the seats.
If you are interested or have any questions, be sure to submit your application in the above mentioned time frame, attend the informational meeting and feel free to call my office as I would be happy to speak with you.
