BENICIA, CA., June 12, 2023

The Benicia Unified School District (BUSD) values partnerships with community service organizations. BUSD would like to thank Benicia Kiwanis and Benicia Rotary for donating two AEDs (automatic external defibrillators) to replace the older AED models at Benicia Middle and Benicia High School.

Both Kiwanis and Rotary clubs have been instrumental in assisting BUSD in establishing a districtwide AED program. Several years ago, Kiwanis and Rotary clubs donated an AED machine to the elementary school and multiple devices to our larger secondary campuses to ensure BMS and BHS had immediate access to AEDs around campus, including athletic facilities, gyms, and the BHS stadium.

AEDs are potentially life-saving devices used during sudden cardiac arrest and heart attacks. Providing CPR and using an AED greatly increases the chance of survival in a cardiac emergency. Having AEDs on BUSD campuses is a valuable safety tool for students and staff. BUSD greatly appreciates the support of both Kiwanis and Rotary and looks forward to continuing our partnership.
