BUSD is committed to educational technology literacy for all students K-12. 21st century learning environments will provide opportunities for students to analyze, learn and explore. These digital age skills are vital for preparing students to work, live and contribute to the social and civic fabric of their communities, enable them to prepare for college and career opportunities and thrive in a global society.

Devices:
BUSD is a 1:1 District for students in grades 1-12.  Every student in grades 1-12 is provided with a Chromebook to use during their tenure as a student in the Benicia Unified School District.  TK and Kindergarten students have iPads and Chromebooks to use in the classroom.  These Chromebooks will be collected at certain transition grades and when students graduate.

Google Classrooms:
All BUSD teachers maintain a Google Classroom where students can access and turn in work. Parents can request to be added to the Google Classroom in order to understand the work being done in school. Students access all of their learning materials through an App called, Clever.  This is a one stop location for all the programs they need to use in their learning.

Technology Mentors:
Technology integration plays an integral role in the common core standards and is vital to the success of our students in the 21st century.

Site Instructional Technology Mentors will serve as a “coach” to support the infusion of technology into classrooms. They will experiment with new technologies that align to the Common Core and offer innovative ways to introduce students to the digital world.

Tech mentors may host teachers throughout the district in their classrooms for observations and model lessons along with providing professional development on site and participating in district committees.
