BUSD hosts two full day professional learning days each year.  In addition, staff have additional optional opportunities to further their learning in areas supported by our District’s Strategic Plan-LCAP.

A major focus of the District’s work in professional learning centers on equity and opportunity.  BUSD has contracted with EPOCH Education to help facilitate this work in multiple areas.  The purpose of this equity work is to ensure that all students have access to and inclusion in all learning and activities in school. BUSD will advance equity practices by ensuring that the voices of our students are represented, they feel seen and their cultures and stories are valued with a particular focus on students  who are black, socio-economically disadvantaged, English learners, Latinx, LBGTQ, and students in special education.
