Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am sure our school communities are anxiously awaiting the announcement of our new Benicia Middle School Principal. I am very excited to inform you that we offered the position to Mr. Damian Scott and he has accepted.

Mr. Scott earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and received his Administrative Credential from Fortune School of Education. He received his Master’s Degree from San Jose State University.  Mr. Scott began his teaching career as an Elementary teacher and more recently taught Science and Computer Science at San Ramon Valley School District and Antioch Unified.  Mr. Scott is currently serving in his third year as the Assistant Principal at Alhambra High School.

Damian Scott recently helped craft and coordinate a partnership between Code.org and eight school districts, including Benicia Unified. Alhambra High School was recognized as a Gold Ribbon School during his leadership. He comes to Benicia Unified with high recommendations from his previous Superintendent.

We enthusiastically welcome Damian Scott as the new Principal of Benicia Middle School, knowing he will provide strong, compassionate, visionary leadership for years to come.
