The California Department of Education (CDE) selected Liberty High School as a Model Continuation High School (MCHS) for 2017. During a recent site visit the review team found ample evidence of exemplary practices that summarized the school’s competitive application. The CDE recognized a school culture that empowers each student to excel with innovative programs and an enduring commitment to provide students with educational options and support they need to successfully complete high school, transition to higher education, and enter the work force. The MCHS Recognition Program is a joint project of the CDE and the California Continuation Education Association.

During the three years that Liberty High School is designated as an MCHS (April 2017-March 2020), the CDE will identify Liberty High as a resource for districts that are planning to establish new continuation high schools. Congratulations to Liberty High School and their staff.
