Niche has released a list of the top 100 California school districts in 2017, and 24 Bay Area districts made the cut.

The rankings are based on “rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education,” as well as graduation rates, standardized test scores, and other metrics.

Benicia Unified School District was named number 17 on a list of Bay Area school districts based on the quality of the teachers. The rankings are determined by parent and student evaluations of teachers, as well as teacher salaries, teacher attendance, teacher tenure and student-to-teacher ratio.
