The Regular School Board meeting will begin at 7 pm at 350 East K Street in the Board Room. The Board will highlight the AP Psychology Class.

Dr. Leslie Beatson, Assistant Superintendent of Education Services along with Brianna Kleinschmidt, BHS Principal, will provide a report on the Benicia High School bell schedule. They will also provide the Board with nine new course outlines for their approval. The new courses include Advanced Engineering, Stagecraft, NGSS Biology, Medical Science & Terminology, Drama Production, Advanced Welding/Fabrication, Drama 1 and Drama 2, and AP Physics. These courses are being created to meet the needs of our students at BHS.

The rest of the meeting will cover a resolution and a report with a discussion on the Governor’s budget. The resolution is brought forward by Roxanne Egan, Bond Director, to allow the District to apply for Proposition 51 grant monies. These funds do not need to be repaid and no debt is incurred by the District. Tim Rahill, Chief Business Official, will give a report on the Governor’s budget. Mr. Rahill and Dr. Young will attend a workshop next week covering the Governor’s budget presented by School Services.  Mr. Rahill will provide an outline listing key features of the budget and the short-term and long-term planning for the District’s budget.
