The last Regular Governing School Board meeting of the 2021-22 school year is Thursday, June 9, 2022 beginning at 7:00pm in the BUSD Board Room at 350 East K Street. This is an in-person meeting, masks are strongly recommended, but not required. Anyone attending is asked to please sign in for contact tracing purposes per Cal/Osha. Members of the public may address the Board at a regular meeting on any item within the Board’s jurisdiction. Speaker cards are available on the entrance table. Please note the item you wish to speak to and submit a card to the Board Secretary. The Board President will call all public comments not on the agenda (Gov. Code Section 54954.3) during the public comment item or during the specific items that align with your topic. Comments are limited to no more than three minutes per speaker or the board may limit the total time to 20 minutes per item with the timer displayed on the monitors. By law, no action may be taken on any item raised during the public comment periods and matters may be referred to staff for placement on a future agenda of the Governing Board. Our final meeting of the year includes all of the following action items: Consideration and Appointment of District Superintendent, the second reading of the BUSD Board Policies to be considered for global adoption to bring all policies up to date. From the Ed Services department we have the consideration and approval of an updated course outline for Geometry in Construction as well as updated curriculum for US Government and new curriculum for our Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) classes. From Human Resources we have the consideration and approval of a new temp position-ELD and Literacy Teacher Support job description, and the consideration and ratification of the Tentative Agreements for the 2022-23 School Year between Benicia Unified School District and the Benicia Teachers Association and the Classified School Employee Association Ch#1096, as well as, the Total Compensation Package for the Confidential/Management Classified/Certificated groups. The final items for the evening will be the Consideration and Adoption of the 2022-23 Local Control Accountability Plan and Budget for BUSD.
