Summary for the Upcoming Regular Governing School Board Meeting of August 11, 2022

The first regular Governing School Board meeting of the 2022-23 school year will be taking place this coming Thursday, August 11, 2022 beginning at 7:00pm in the BUSD Board Room at 350 East K Street.  This is an in-person meeting, masks are strongly recommended, but not required.  Anyone attending is asked to please sign in for contact tracing purposes per Cal/Osha.  Members of the public may address the Board at a regular meeting on any item within the Board’s jurisdiction. Speaker cards are available on the entrance table. On the card please note the item you wish to speak to and submit a card to the Board Secretary. The Board President will call all public comments not on the agenda (Gov. Code Section 54954.3) during the public comment item #10 or during the specific items that align with your topic. Comments are limited to no more than three minutes per speaker or the board may limit the total time to 20 minutes per item with the timer displayed on the monitors. By law, no action may be taken on any item raised during the public comment periods and matters may be referred to staff for placement on a future agenda of the Governing Board.  We will continue to Livestream and record via the BUSD YouTube channel linked here:  https://www.youtube.com/c/beniciaunifiedschooldistrict.  

This meeting will begin with a Highlight of our Summer Programs.  The Informational Item will be a Hiring Update and the Action Items include: from HR, consideration and approval of an Intent to Employ with a Variable Term Credential Waiver, consideration and ratification of the MOU for Salary Range change in specific classified positions and revised Classified Salary Schedules, and lastly, consideration and approval of the Certificated Substitute Teachers Pay during the 2022-23 School Year. From Ed Services there is the consideration and approval of Adoption of the Independent Study Policy Update (BP/AR6158) and the consideration and adoption of curriculum for World Language-French Courses. From Business Services there is the 2022/23 Final State Budget Adjustment: Approval of the Adjustment from the 2022/23 Final State Budget to the BUSD Budget for the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) Grant. Lastly, Ratification of Superintendent Contract Retroactive to June 9, 2022.
