The regular Governing School Board meeting of Thursday, November 3, 2022 will begin at 7:00pm in the BUSD Board Room at 350 East K Street. This is an in-person meeting, masks are recommended, but not required.. Members of the public may address the Board at a regular meeting on any item within the Board’s jurisdiction. Speaker cards are available on the entrance table. Please note the item you wish to speak to and submit the card to the Board Secretary. The Board President will call all public comments not on the agenda (Gov. Code Section 54954.3) during the public comment item #10 and that item number should be noted on the speaker card. All other comments will be called during the specific items that align with your topic. Comments are limited to no more than three minutes per speaker or the board may limit the total time to 20 minutes per item with the timer displayed on the monitors. By law, no action may be taken on any item raised during the public comment periods and matters may be referred to staff for placement on a future agenda of the Governing Board.

This will be a robust meeting in which the consent calendar includes a couple of overnight field trips, consideration and approval of a Bond Oversight Committee Member, acceptance of a gift, and Resolution #22-23-06 as a Declaration of Obsolete Books. With the remaining being all actions items that include: the consideration and approval to Award the Contract for the Joe Henderson Elementary School (JHES) E Wing Restroom and Accessory Modular buildings to the lowest bidder, a Provisional Intern Permit, and MOU for Salary Range change of Food Service Manager position along with the updated “CSEA” Salary Schedule for the 2022-23 school year, a Van Driver and Compliance and Public Information Officer job descriptions, and the Early Notification Retirement Incentive. The last item will be the Board Trustee Candidate Interviews for Area 5.
