The regular Governing School Board meeting of Thursday, January 19, 2023 will begin at 6:00pm in the BUSD Board Room at 350 East K Street. This is an in-person meeting, masks are recommended, but not required. Members of the public may address the Board at a regular meeting on any item within the Board’s jurisdiction. Speaker cards are available on the entrance table. Please note the item you wish to speak to and submit the card to the Board Secretary. The Board President will call all public comments not on the agenda (Gov. Code Section 54954.3) during the public comment item #10 and that item number should be noted on the speaker card. All other comments will be called during the specific items that align with your topic. Comments are limited to no more than three minutes per speaker or the board may limit the total time to 20 minutes per item with the timer displayed on the monitors. By law, no action may be taken on any item raised during the public comment periods and matters may be referred to staff for placement on a future agenda of the Governing Board.

This will be a robust meeting in which the consent calendar includes a revised 2023 Regular Board Meeting Calendar Dates, the Quarterly Report on Williams Uniform Complaints and District Authorized Signatures. The following presentations will take place: Report Out on First 100 Days, Special Education Continuum of Services, a CA Dashboard Data Update, and a Governing Board review of the Governor’s January Budget Proposal for the 2023/24 fiscal year (covering the period from 7/1/2023 to 6/30/2024). The three action items of the evening are Consideration and Approval of Appointment of Supervisor of Attendance, the Adoption for AP World Language-Spanish Courses, and the BUSD Independent Auditor’s Report & the Financial and Performance Bond Audit.
