Sukhi Broome

Sukhi Broome is an outstanding psychologist at Matthew Turner Elementary, and her strength and dedication to her work have made her an invaluable member of the school community.

Sukhi holds the record for the longest tenure at the school, a testament to her unwavering commitment to the students, staff, and the community. Her passion and effectiveness in her role are remarkable, leaving a lasting impact on all she serves. 

Within BUSD, Sukhi is a true asset. Her extensive knowledge and expertise make her a go-to resource for teachers and staff seeking guidance on interventions and support strategies. She thoroughly prepares for IEP meetings and offers profound insights into the students and assessment data she presents. Moreover, Sukhi has a unique ability to put parents at ease, offering genuine and thoughtful advice on best supporting their children.

Beyond her professional prowess, Sukhi is a compassionate and thoughtful colleague. Over the years, she has significantly contributed to boosting morale, fostering relationships, and infusing positivity into the school environment. She extends an open invitation to her office, providing a listening ear and sage advice to anyone in need. Sukhi is like a beacon of light on our staff, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her as a part of our community. Sukhi Broome, thank you for being a BUSD All-Star!

Rony Estrada

Mr. Rony Etsrada, District Grounds Lead, has become the backbone and the go-to tradesman in the Maintenance Department. Rony enjoys helping all his coworkers and has created a good rapport with all school sites.  

Rony oversees all the sports fields and landscapes at all sites and puts his cement finishing skills to good use whenever the need arises. Recently, Rony patched a highly used sidewalk along Military Way between Farmar and BHS, significantly reducing the tripping hazards. 

For his tremendous work ethic and dedication to the safety and improvement of all school sites, Mr. Rony Estrada is undoubtedly the M&O and BUSD All-Star!

Allyssa Anastasios 

Allyssa Anastasios excels as a Student Supervision Aide at Matthew Turner Elementary School, infusing her remarkable strength and positivity daily. Her friendly smile and unwavering optimism set a shining example. She is an incredible team player!

Allyssa’s reliability is evident in her consistent, fair, and firm approach to addressing student behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. She remains composed in challenging situations, displays excellent decision-making skills, and is an inspirational role model.

Allyssa’s exceptional talent lies in building positive connections with students and fostering a strong sense of belonging. Her unwavering dedication and sense of pride are evident daily as she consistently goes the extra mile to help our students thrive. Allyssa Anastasios you are a BUSD All-Star!

Rebecca Lind 

Ms. Rebecca Lind teaches third grade at Robert Semple Elementary School. Ms. Lind has become an educational leader both to her students and staff. She has excelled in unifying the school community by ensuring cultural differences are recognized and celebrated. Ms. Lind’s efforts have also strengthened the close-knit community at Semple through the annual AMAZING Dia De Los Muertos event, with over 500 people from our cultural backgrounds in attendance! Ms. Lind, you are appreciated. Thank you for being a BUSD All-Star!

Keri Shea

Ms. Keri Shea is a Senior Food Service Assistant at Robert Semple Elementary School. Ms. Shea continues to bring smiles to our students and staff’s faces by providing the highest quality, delicious meals. She pairs her meals with the kindest, most loving customer service. Keri takes care of everyone and makes us feel loved! The food service kitchens within the District recently underwent inspection, and Robert Semple scored 100% due to Ms. Shea’s efforts.
