Kathleen Sauter
Mrs. Sauter serves as a teacher at Liberty High School. Through compassion, caring, and understanding, she builds genuine relationships that contribute to student confidence and a sense of belonging. Mrs. Sauter exemplifies the spirit of Liberty High School as she always puts students first and takes time to provide individualized support. Javier Martinez
Mr. Javier Martinez is essential to ensuring Liberty High School remains safe and welcoming for all. As a Campus Supervisor, he oversees our school’s safety by watching over the campus and connecting with students. As a valued mentor, Mr. Martinez speaks with students who are often reluctant to interact with adults, listens to their experiences, and supports their journey. Mr. Martinez is often the first greeting Liberty High School Students receive in the morning. Mr. Martinez’s actions make each student feel appreciated and seen. Mr. Martinez, thank you for being a BUSD All-Star!
Candice Crismond
Candice Crismond is a phenomenal teacher, band director, musician, and leader. She has led the BHS Marching Band, Concert Band, Color Guard, and Drumline through a very successful Fall Competition Season – and done so by motivating the students to do their personal best and having fun! Ms. Crismond transitioned from the BMS Band program to the BHS Band program two years ago and has quickly positively impacted her students and the BHS community. Her attention to detail and planning is unmatched. She is patient and encouraging and has established a high standard. Her role as band director requires extreme commitment and dedication beyond the hours of a regular school day – she is here late at night and working through the weekends at band reviews, concerts, and Band Booster events. For students in the band program, this is their favorite class of the day, thanks to Candice Crismond.

She brings out the best of the best in her students and is to be commended for her work – and for just being a really awesome and amazing human being to boot.”

Destiny Chambers
Destiny Chambers is a long-time BUSD employee and an excellent Special Education Assistant. She truly cares about the students in her program and is always willing to push for their advocacy and success. You can often see her interacting with all the students on campus, at football games, and in the community. Ms. Chambers is also an amazing colleague as she works to provide support for all of the teachers she works with, as well as for others. Her heart for kids shines through in everything she does. And she has a great sense of humor that brings smiles to everyone to brighten their day. We are lucky to have Destiny Chambers at Benicia High School! Ms. Chambers, you are a BUSD All-Star!
Sabrina Murcia
Ms. Sabrina Murcia has an extensive tenure within the Food and Nutrition Department, and her work ethic contributes to the program’s success. Ms. Murcia’s versatility makes her a standout employee. She exemplifies customer service by seamlessly assisting parents, students, and staff with a smile and a positive attitude. Ms. Murcia’s team approach helps coworkers with tasks, and she fills in at other school sites throughout the District when needed. She also ensures students have various quality food options in the serving lines. We are very fortunate to have Ms. Murcia on our Team! Thank you for being a BUSD All-Star!
