The Benicia Unified School District Governance Board has three open seats, with the terms starting December 2, 2016. The application window is July 18 – August 12 and we have scheduled a perspective candidate information meeting for Thursday, August 4th at 6pm in the District Office Board Room, 350 East K Street.
Two seats represent four year terms and one is for two years and completes the term for Trustee Switzer who sadly passed away in November of 2015. Application information can be found at https://www.solanocounty.com/depts/rov/
The School Board Governance Team plays a key role in the overall operation of a school district, fulfilling this role by performing five major responsibilities:

Providing community leadership as advocates for children and the school district
The School Board successfully accomplishes these responsibilities by working together as a high functioning governance team, with the Superintendent, to make decisions that will best serve all students in the community.
