Due to the resignation of Gary Wing, a vacancy will exist after his last day on June 28th on the Benicia Unified School District Board of Trustees. In accordance with Section 5091 of the California Education Code, the vacancy will be filled by an appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term (November 2020).
Qualified candidates (residents of Benicia and a citizen of California, not employed by Benicia Unified, a registered voter and over 18 years of age, and not legally disqualified from holding a civil office) should apply by signing out a packet from the Office of the Superintendent , filling it out and then returning it to the Office of the Superintendent. Summer Office hours are 8 am- 4 pm, Monday – Thursday, closed on all holidays. The packet must be submitted to this office by noon on June 27, 2019.

The schedule leading to the selection of the candidate:
- The filing period will close on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 12:00 p.m.
- Applicants will receive an interview by the Governing Board during the August 1, 2019, special board meeting.

The Board will announce its selection during the special meeting on August 1, 2019, and the candidate chosen will be sworn in.
