The Regular Governing School Board of Thursday, May 26, 2022 will begin at 7:00pm in the BUSD Board Room at 350 East K Street. This is an in-person meeting, masks are strongly recommended, but not required. Anyone attending is asked to please sign in for contact tracing purposes per Cal/Osha. Members of the public may address the Board at a regular meeting on any item within the Board’s jurisdiction. Speaker cards are available on the entrance table. Please note the item you wish to speak to and submit a card to the Board Secretary. The Board President will call all public comments not on the agenda (Gov. Code Section 54954.3) during the public comment item or during the specific items that align with your topic. Comments are limited to no more than three minutes per speaker or the board may limit the total time to 20 minutes per item with the timer displayed on the monitors. By law, no action may be taken on any item raised during the public comment periods and matters may be referred to staff for placement on a future agenda of the Governing Board. This is a robust meeting in which the Communication/Informational items include the first reading of the revised BUSD Board Policies to be considered for a global adoption of all updated policies. In addition, the Board will be informed of the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) Law Compliance Audit for the District along with a Grant update. We will conclude that section of the agenda with two public hearings. The first is for the Local Control and Accountability Plan and the second for the 2022/23 Budget for BUSD. The Non-Consent Action Items include, the consideration and approval of the Transitional Kindergarten Grant Plan, a Resolution for the Release of Temporary Employees and a Resolution for the Release of Certificated Probationary Employee. The final item for the evening will be the consideration and Appointment of District Superintendent.
