The Regular Governing School Board meeting of Thursday, December 15, 2022 will begin at 7:00pm in the BUSD Board Room at 350 East K Street. This is an in-person meeting, masks are recommended, but not required.. Members of the public may address the Board at a regular meeting on any item within the Board’s jurisdiction. Speaker cards are available on the entrance table. Please note the item you wish to speak to and submit the card to the Board Secretary. The Board President will call all public comments not on the agenda (Gov. Code Section 54954.3) during the public comment item #10 and that item number should be noted on the speaker card. All other comments will be called during the specific items that align with your topic. Comments are limited to no more than three minutes per speaker or the board may limit the total time to 20 minutes per item with the timer displayed on the monitors. By law, no action may be taken on any item raised during the public comment periods and matters may be referred to staff for placement on a future agenda of the Governing Board.

This is the Annual Organizational meeting of the Governing Board that includes the Oath of Office, Honoring our outgoing Trustee, the reorganization of the roles and responsibilities of the Governing Board members, and the approval of the 2023 Calendar of Board Meetings, which consists of an Open Session commencement time of 6:00 PM. The meeting agenda will also include the consideration of the Consent Calendar, which includes field trip approvals, and the following resolutions: #22-23-07, to Certify the Annual Accounting for Development Fees for the Fiscal Year 2021/22, #22-23-08 and 22-23-09 which are signature authorizations for the CDU department. We will conclude this section by acknowledging the acceptance of Gifts from the Valero Benefit for Children and the Lions Club of Benicia.
The agenda also includes a Public Hearing and Action Item on the School Facility Fee Justification Report for BUSD with consideration and action to approve Resolution #22-23-05 to establish school facility fees. The Presentations and Communications/Informational Items include Human Growth Development and Sexual Health, Grading for Equity, and an update on the LCAP. The Action Items include the Governing Board review and approval of the 2022/23 1st Interim Financial Report for the District, consideration and approval of the updated course outline for NGSS Integrated Science 9 for adoption, the Appointment of a Community Advisory Committee Representative for BUSD, and the Intent to Employ with a Provisional Internship Permit.
