Kelly Brown
Ms. Kelly Brown has served the Benicia Unified School District for ten years and currently teaches first grade at Robert Semple Elementary School. In addition to her teacher assignment, Ms. Brown serves as the Positive Behavior Intervention Support Lead, Yearbook Advisor, and the Vice President of Robert Semple’s Parent Teacher Group. Ms. Brown’s dedication to her students, willingness to support others, and selflessness contribute to a positive campus climate.

Beth Rosmaryn-Ta
Ms. Beth Rosmaryn-Ta is a Wellness Center Technician at Robert Semple Elementary School. Ms. Rosmaryn-Ta creates a calm, welcoming space for students and staff to relax, recharge, and reset when needed. Her kindness, flexibility, and student-centered approach empower positive relationships and set a foundation for social-emotional growth.

Jason Moreira
Mr. Jason Moreira joined our BUSD Maintenance and Operations team in November 2022. Mr. Moreira’s prior experiences and skills enabled him to improve BUSD facilities and positively impact our organization. In addition to serving as the District’s locksmith, he most notably repaired the underground piping at Robert Semple Elementary School and completed carpentry and painting projects at Benicia Middle School.

Jeanine Otterbeck is a Special Education Assistant at Matthew Turner Elementary School and is integral to the program’s success. Ms. Otterbeck has a fantastic spirit and is an empathetic and caring individual who positively impacts the lives of the students she serves. While Ms. Otterbeck’s wisdom, innovation, and remarkable intuition foster positivity, her dependability is what is most appreciated. Ms. Otterbeck rises to the occasion in the most difficult challenges.

Diane Gross Hagerty
Ms. Diane Gross Hagerty is an outstanding educator who teaches 2nd grade at Matthew Turner Elementary School. Ms. Gross Hagerty’s unwavering motivation to become a better educator inspires her students and colleagues daily. Her classroom radiates student engagement and fun as she captures the creative spirit of her young scholars. Diane Gross Hagerty’s impact extends beyond academics as her strength, energy, and compassion build relationships and uplift those around her.
