Max Harville

Mr. Max Harville works as a Kitchen Production Manager within the BUSD Food & Nutrition Services Department. Mr. Harville’s passion and dedication to the central kitchen enables him to excel at his craft. Mr. Harville does a great job utilizing fresh local produce, creating great recipes for our students’ meals, and he does a fantastic job catering BUSD events. Max Harville, you are a BUSD Allstar!

Rosalinda Ortiz

Ms. Rosalinda Ortiz is a Custodian who serves Liberty High School. Ms. Ortiz goes the extra mile to make LHS clean, safe, and ready for staff and students when they arrive each day. Her customer service approach to work, and her attention to detail enable her to meet the competing demands of the job. Ms. Ortiz puts great pride in her work, and her efforts have not gone unnoticed by all those who walk through our doors. Ms. Rosalinda Ortiz, you are a BUSD Allstar!

Mila Abono

Ms. Mila Abono has taught within the Benicia Unified School District for five years and currently teaches at Liberty High School. During her tenure at LHS, Ms. Abono has enhanced the Math and science programs by elevating classroom instruction and creating excellent “Leaving to Learn” opportunities. Ms. Abono can be seen leading students during the U.C. Davis’ Spinning Salmon project and the Call of the Sea sailing expeditions. Ms. Abono, you are a BUSD Allstar!

Joan Westerman

Ms. Joan Westerman has taught at Benicia High School for fifteen years. During her tenure, Ms. Westerman has taught mathematics and economics. Ms. Westerman’s contributions extend beyond the classroom as she often volunteers for school site and district-level committees and advises various student organizations. In partnership with Travis Credit Union, Ms. Westerman also facilitates the Mad City Money event each year, providing students with a hands-on, real-world learning opportunity. Ms. Westerman, your passion for preparing students for life after high school has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for being a BUSD All-Star.

Rosa Martinez and Lydia Ambriz 

Ms. Rosa Martinez and Ms. Lydia Ambriz both serve as Custodians at Benicia High School. The BHS school community appreciates Ms. Martinez and Ms. Ambriz, for maintaining a BHS campus we are all proud of. Their work extends beyond their daily custodial duties as they contributed to many of the campus beautification projects, including the planting of an array of eye-catching plants and flowers during the COVID-19 closures that continues today. Ms. Martinez and Ms. Ambriz, we are grateful for your service and thank you for being BUSD AllStars.
