Air Quality Decision Making 

• BUSD uses AirNow.gov as its primary air measurement tool.  We also use two secondary air quality measurement tools to confirm AirNow.gov measurements which include District owned and maintained PurpleAir devices located at all schools and the District office and air quality measurements from the Benicia Fire Department.   
• The Superintendent and Director of Maintenance & Operations monitors the air quality throughout the day when there is a threat of poor air quality.  Every effort will be made as early as possible to determine if the use of the Air Quality Modified Lunch schedule or if school closure is necessary.
